My Kentucky
I In 1976 my father retired from the U.S. Air Force and we moved back to his hometown located in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. To say that it was a culture shock for me would be an understatement but in a short period of time, and as I was accustomed to moves to differing environments, I adjusted.
I left in 1982 and took to the world that I had dreamed about as a kid. But Kentucky holds a special place with me and I get back as I can. I still have family there and I still call it home despite having been gone for a very long time.
These images are the start of documenting what I remember and what I think of as mine when I’m gone. I hope they get past the stereotypes that are so often associated with Kentucky and provide the viewer with a glimpse of something special.
