01.24.2012 Preparation
I'm preparing for a trip to South America in two weeks. As part of that preparation I've been out, with the various cameras, making sure I'm still OK with them and that they actually are working up to par. This may be a once in a lifetime trip and I want to come back with images. So I get out every weekend, develop the film and make sure I'm fairly competent.
This is my test subject for focus. It's located on the the Newport Beach Pier and I pass it a lot as I make images of the fishermen on the pier. It stays still long enough for me to make sure I am focusing correctly, and once developed, I can tell if I'm on or if there are problems with the camera. I found one camera that needs adjusting and will get sent off once I return. It was a camera I planned to take so at least some of the time paid off in spades.
This was made with the Mamiya 7II body I picked up a couple of years ago. It's most certainly making the trip along with my Leica. I think that's it since I'm trying to go light with a small camera bag and one suitcase. I don't plan to move much, but I still want to pack light and nimble and be prepared for whatever may come may way.

Larry, have a great time. I'm glad the Mamiya is working out for you!
Thanks for stopping by Kerik. Yep, the Mamiya is working out really well. Lots of images from it but I'm so far behind I can't see straight at the moment.
