More from The Presidio

Presidio, November, 2009I've gotten some more images developed from the Presidio.  I still have a few more but travel and the holiday have built up a bit of backlog that I need to get through in the next few weeks.

This is another image from the Chris Honeysett workshop.  Throughout the weekend Chris talked about seeing images, stopping and taking the time to make the image and just making the time to expose film if you felt strongly.  It's something I always struggle with.  In my head I see images throughout the day but very seldom will take the time to make an image.  When I go out with the desire to make an image, more often than not, I find nothing that provides much inspiration.

Anyway... I saw this building as we were breaking for the day on Sunday.  I loved the light and just decided to get over there and expose a sheet or two.  To a degree it worked out and I like the image but I'm not in love with it yet.

But from a technical standpoint I'm really happy with it.  Several tips Chris provided on exposure really helped out here.  And these tips proved to be well worth the time and cost of the workshop, at least for me they did.  These were developed in HC110 Dilution "H" for 10 minutes.  The shadows have detail and they were a breeze to scan which has been an issue with my large format stuff.

This image will be a reminder to stop and take the time to expose a sheet from now on.  My proficiency with the Chamonix is getting better and allowing me to get set up in a timely manner.  It's one less hurdle to overcome in the process that is large format.

I'm off to another workshop next weekend that will be vastly different than the Chris Honeysett workshop.  More on that later.
